ABOUT Preston Bend Cemetery

History

The cemetery, originally part of the old township of Preston Bend, was moved by the Army Corps of Engineers in the early 1940’s when Denison Dam and Lake Texoma were constructed.  This work began in August 1939 and was completed in February 1944.  Today there remains a rich and interesting history relating to the past lives and events of Preston Bend.  The cemetery continues to provide a desirable resting place for the descendents of those families who originally settled in Preston Bend and for those now living in the area known as the Preston Peninsula.

Sincerely,
